Department of Industrial Engineering hosted a poster fair on June 8, 2017, in which sixteen graduating students presented their senior design projects conducted within the scope of the IE491 and IE492 course series during the past academic year. The five student groups worked on the following projects at Hacettepe University Hospital, FNSS and UNO.
Hacettepe University Hospital:
"Scheduling of Surgical Operations with Heuristics and Discrete Event Simulation "
"A Simulation Model to Improve the Patient Flow at a Pediatric Emergency Department"
FNSS:
"Using Simulation Approach on Decision Assessment for Receiving Area Efficiency"
"Inventory System Development for Chemical Warehouse"
UNO:
"Optimization of the H3 Hamburger Bread Production Line and Determining Inventory Policies"
The project entitled "Scheduling of Surgical Operations with Heuristics and Discrete Event Simulation" conducted at Hacettepe University was awarded as the best poster presentation based on the collective votes of fair visitors. The fair ended with a celebration which was honored by the attendance of Rector Prof. Dr Murat Tarımcılar, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. H. Belgin Ayvaşık and Dean of Engineering Prof. Dr. Güney Özcebe.
