Dr. Vedat Bayram Wins the Prestigious Marie Curie "Seal of Excellence" Award

Dr. Vedat Bayram, Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering has won the prestigious Seal of Excellence award due to his achievement in a project application made to European Commission, Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. His project titled as “Real-Time Large Scale Urban Evacuation Management”, aims to contribute to U.N. “Climate Action” in building resilience and reducing vulnerability to climate-related disasters and to the “Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction” in that it offers a solution methodology for real-time evacuation of urban areas within European Union in order to further prevent risk and to ensure safety of populations affected by such disasters. The project received a total score of 88.8%. The award is given to project applications with a score of 85% or more from all stringent Horizon 2020 assessment thresholds for the 3 award criteria; excellence, impact, quality and efficiency of implementation.
