A new article from our faculty member Dr. Ece Zeliha Demirci!

Dr. Ece Zeliha Demirci’s paper co-authored with Joachim Arts from University of Luxembourg and Geert-Jan van Houtum from Eindhoven University of Technology, has been published in Flexible Services and Manufacturing with the title “A Restless Bandit Approach for Capacitated Condition-Based Maintenance Scheduling”!

This paper addresses the maintenance scheduling of multiple deteriorating, non-identical machines by proposing a heuristic based on Whittle’s index for the restless bandit problem, which performs well and outperforms common benchmark policies, especially with high number of machines and/or under high maintenance workloads.
