Faculty members of our department, Assoc. Prof. Serhat Gül and Assist. Prof. Elif Zeynep Serper, participated in the IFORS Conference, held at the University of Vienna in Vienna, Austria, from July 12 to 17, 2026, where they presented and contributed to various research studies.
Assoc. Prof. Serhat Gül presented the study entitled "A Problem-Based Scenario Reduction Approach," which was jointly authored with Dr. Günsu Dağıstanlı Çallı, whose Ph.D. co-supervisor at Middle East Technical University was Assoc. Prof. Gül until recently, and Prof. Melih Çelik from the University of Bath.
Assistant Professor Elif Zeynep Serper presented the study titled “Hub Network Design for Truck Platooning under Uncertain Cost Savings,” co-authored with Sibel A. Alumur, in the invited “Hub Location” session under the “Hub Location and Network Design” stream at the 24th Conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS).
