Assistant Professor Sırma Karakaya Attended the ORAHS 2026 Conference

Assistant Professor Sırma Karakaya, a faculty member of our department, attended the Operational Research Applied to Health Services (ORAHS 2026) Conference, held from 19 to 24 July 2026 in Belfast, United Kingdom, and hosted by Queen’s University Belfast.

At the conference, Dr. Karakaya presented her study entitled “Integrating Walk-in Patients into Outpatient Schedules: A Two-Stage Optimization Approach.” She shared the findings of her research on effectively integrating unscheduled walk-in patients into existing appointment systems in outpatient clinics through a two-stage optimization approach.
